Rear of Tractor (1) Screed lift cylinder (2) Auger lift cylinderEach side of the tractor is equipped with screed lift cylinder (1) and auger lift cylinder (2) .Pressurized oil is directed into screed lift cylinders (1) when the screed is lifted or when the screed counterbalance system is operating. The head ends of the screed lift cylinders are open to the hydraulic tank unless the screed lock solenoid is energized. When the screed is being lowered, the rod ends of the screed lift cylinders are also open to the hydraulic tank. Gravity forces the screed to the ground. The inlet port at the rod end of each screed lift cylinder contains an orifice. The orifice limits the rate of lowering the screed. When the auger lift switch is in the RAISE position, the auger lift solenoid directs oil into the rod end of the right auger lift cylinder. Oil is transferred from the head end of the right auger lift cylinder to the rod end of left auger lift cylinder (2). The auger lower solenoid directs oil from the head end of the left auger lift cylinder into the return passage in the auxiliary manifold. When the auger lift switch is in the LOWER position, the auger lower solenoid directs oil into the head end of the left auger lift cylinder. Oil is transferred from the rod end of the left auger lift cylinder to the head end of the right auger lift cylinder. The auger lift solenoid directs oil from the rod end of the right auger lift cylinder into the return passage in the auxiliary manifold.

Right Side of Machine (3) Tow point cylinderEach side of the machine is equipped with tow point cylinder (3) .Each tow point cylinder lifts the respective tow point and each cylinder lowers the respective tow point. When the tow point is changed, the screed's angle of attack is changed. The tow point solenoids that are on the manifold for the tow point control the oil which flows to the tow point cylinders. When oil is directed into the head end of the tow point cylinder, the tow point lowers. In this case, the angle of attack decreases. When oil is directed into the rod end of the tow point cylinder, the tow point rises. In this case, the angle of attack increases.

Left Side of Machine (4) Position scale for tow point (5) Position indicator for tow pointEach side of the machine is equipped with tow point position scale (4) .Tow point position scale (4) is mounted on the top of the tractor above the tow point. Position indicator (5) for tow point on the position scale is connected to the tow point by a rod. When the angle of attack is changed, the tow point cylinders move up or the tow point cylinders move down. In this case, the reading on the position scale for tow point changes in relation to the movement of the cylinders.
