Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the fuel transfer pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Transfer Pump - Remove".
Remove the injection actuation pressure control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Injection Actuation Pressure Control Valve - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.

Disconnect tube assemblies (4) and (6) from unit injector hydraulic pump (1). Cap the tube assemblies immediately.
Remove bolts (5) from unit injector hydraulic pump (1). Remove unit injector hydraulic pump (1) .
Remove oil inlet port (2) and oil outlet port (3) from unit injector hydraulic pump (1) .

Remove bolt (8) and the washer from gear (9). Remove gear (9). Remove O-ring seal (7) .
Start By:
