4. Move the transmission speed selector lever to the desired speed. 5. Move the forward-neutral-reverse lever to the desired direction. 6. Move the governor control lever to the desired engine speed. 7. Release the brake pedals to allow the machine to move. Push the brake pedals down to slow or stop. 8. Release the flywheel clutch pedal to engage clutch and to allow the machine to move.If the machine is inoperable, and must be moved, refer to the "Towing" section.Changing Speed and Direction
Do not use brake pedals as foot rests to avoid early brake wear or damage.For operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, clutch braking when changing directions is recommended.
It is important that the machine is stopped before a transmission shift of any kind is made.When the machine is stopped with the engine idling and the transmission in NEUTRAL, engage the flywheel clutch brake. The flywheel clutch brake will stop the rotation of the transmission gears. With the gears stopped, a speed and direction shift can be selected without grinding the gears. 1. Push governor lever forward to decrease the engine speed. 2. Push the brake pedals down to slow the machine travel speed. 3. Push the flywheel clutch pedal down to disengage the flywheel clutch.4. Push the brake pedals down to stop the machine.5. Push the flywheel clutch pedal all the way down to apply the flywheel clutch brake.
