Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

When the medium pressure circuit has been opened or the hydraulic oil has been replaced, remove the air from the medium pressure circuit. Remove the air from the medium pressure circuit in the following manner:Procedure

Medium circuit control valve
(1) Pressure tap
(2) Pressure tap
Connect the hose for air removal to pressure tap (1) and pressure tap (2) of the medium circuit control valve. Refer to Illustration 1.
Insert the other end of the air removal hose into the hydraulic tank.
Operate the control inputs to fully extend and retract the medium circuit valve. Continue operating the control inputs until all the residual air has been removed from the circuit.
