Typical Example
Install the O-ring seal on the transmission housing. Apply clean power train oil on the O-ring seal.
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to torque converter assembly (7). The weight of torque converter assembly (7) is approximately 190 kg (420 lb).
Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device to install torque converter assembly (7) on the transmission and the output transfer gears.

Install bolts (10) that hold torque converter assembly (7) to the transmission and the output transfer gears.
Connect harness assembly (11).

Install bolts (9) that hold torque converter assembly (7) to the transmission and the output transfer gears.

Install bolts (8) that hold torque converter assembly (7) to the transmission and the output transfer gears.

Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device to position the torque converter, the transmission, and the output transfer gears in a horizontal position. The weight of the torque converter, the transmission, and the output transfer gear is approximately 1104 kg (2434 lb). Use Tooling (B) and suitable cribbing to support the torque converter, the transmission, and the output gears.
Remove Tooling (A) from the torque converter, the transmission, and the output gears.

Attach a suitable lifting device to transmission oil pump (4). The weight of transmission oil pump (4) is 30 kg (66 lb). Install transmission oil pump (4) and bolts (1).
Connect temperature sensor (3). Tighten temperature sensor (3) to a torque of 20 5 N.m (177 44 lb in). Connect harness assembly (2) to the bracket.
Install tube assembly (5) and two bolts (6) to transmission oil pump (4).End By:
Install the torque converter, the transmission, and the output transfer gears.
