If, for some reason, the PR-275-RT engine automatically shuts down and stops the machine in a dangerous or undesirable position, the machine can be towed to a safe location. THE MACHINE SHOULD BE TOWED ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, ONLY FOR SHORT DISTANCES AND ONLY AT SLOW SPEEDS (5 MPH OR LESS). HIGHER SPEEDS WILL DAMAGE THE TORQUE HUBS.To prepare the machine for towing:1. Hitch the towing vehicle to the machine. 2. Disengage the wheel drive TORQUE-HUBS. a. Remove the disengagement cap.b. Reverse the disengagement cap. The projection on the cap should now extend into the TORQUE-HUB.c. Tighten the bolts.3. Move the auxiliary hydraulic supply switch to "On".4. Use the elevation control levers to raise the mainframe until the cutter and moldboard clear the ground.
WHEN THE TORQUE HUBS ARE DISENGAGED THERE IS NO BRAKING AVAILABLE ON THE MACHINE, SO EXTREME CARE MUST BE TAKEN IN HILLY AREAS, BAR DITCHES, ETC.FULL STEERING CAPABILITY IS NOT AVAILABLE UNLESS THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. LIMITED (SLOW) STEERING IS AVAILABLE WHEN THE AUXILIARY HYDRAULIC SUPPLY SWITCH IS AT "ON".
5. Tow the machine to a safe place. Before unhitching the towing vehicle, return the TORQUE-HUB disengagement caps to their normal position and lower the mainframe so the cutter is on the ground.
