Do not lower the bottom guard while under the machine. Injury could occur if the bottom guard slips off of the jack while it is being lowered.
When debris build-up is present in the machine bottom guards, clean the bottom guards of the debris build-up, as needed.
Illustration 1 g03281836Note: Weights of bottom guards are between 55 kg (120 lb) and 130 kg (285 lb). Bottom guards may contain 90 kg (200 lb) of loose rock, dirt, liquids, and debris.
Position a jack under the bottom guard to lower the guard.
Remove all foreign debris from the underside of the engine compartment and inside the bottom guards.
Position the jack under the guard prior to replacing the bolts.
Illustration 2 g06131657If equipped, use the manual clean-outs. Open the small access panels and remove the debris from the engine compartment. No jack is required.
