Disconnect hose assemblies (14) and (15).

Remove bolts (16). Remove the bracket and valve (17).

Disconnect harness assemblies (20) and (21).

Disconnect hose assemblies (23) and (24) from filter base (25).

Disconnect harness assemblies (26) and (27) from filter base (25).
Attach Tooling (E) to filter base (25). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (E). Attach the lifting device to a suitable hoist. The weight of the filter base assembly is approximately 109 kg (240 lb).
Remove mounting bolts (28) from filter base (25). Remove filter base from the truck.

Disconnect hose assemblies (29), (30), and (31). Move hose assemblies away from the work area.

Disconnect hose assemblies (32) and (33).

Remove bolts (34) to disconnect the transmission planetary from the rear axle housing.
Failure to properly assemble parts or failure to follow established procedures can lead to damage of the parts and assembly.To avoid damage to parts, always identify and mark the parts so that they can be installed in the same location. Ensure that gear surfaces align. Never force parts during assembly.
Use Tooling (C) to disengage the input shaft splines from the output shaft splines.Note: Proceed slowly in the horizontal position until splines are disengaged.
Remove transmission planetary (1) from the truck. The approximate weight of transmission planetary (1) is 6260 kg (13800 lb).
Secure transmission planetary (1) to Tooling (D).
