3412 Industrial And Marine EnginesSUPPLEMENT: 10/20/82ENGINE NEWS, DECEMBER 16, 1981, PAGE 3.The article, "New Air Cleaner Group Has Six Clamps For Improved Seal," announced the new group for 3412 Industrial and Marine Engines.
A similar change has been made in production of the D353, D379, D398 and D399 Industrial, Marine and Generator Set Engines. Two new 5N9369 Housing Assemblies and two new 5N9368 Cover Assemblies are used in place of the two former 5N2669 Housing Assemblies and two 5N2969 Cover Assemblies, respectively. The sequence in which to tighten the clamps is the same as shown in the article. These changes are in effect with Serial Numbers 66B9511, 67B2384, 68B7681, 69B2145, 72B1045, 73B1696, 35B6641, 49C955, 91B1362, 34Z859, 35Z989 and 36Z1120.
Change the subtitle in the article to "3412 Industrial And Marine Engines; D353, D379, D398, D399 Industrial, Marine And Generator Set Engines."

Two air cleaner groups are used on 3412 Industrial Engines; one is used on 3412 Marine Engines. The illustration shows the correct sequence to tighten the clamps.
