Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Open the left side access door and turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Open hood assembly (1).
Remove two bolts (2) and the two washers. Open engine access door (3).

Disconnect the harness assembly for light (4).
Remove the bolts, access panel (5), and access door (6).

Remove water separator (7). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Separator. Primary Fuel Filter, and Fuel Priming Pump - Remove and Install".

Loosen clamps (8) and (11).
Remove the bolts, the washers, and plate assemblies (10) and (12).

Attach a suitable lifting device to muffler (9).The weight of muffler (9) is approximately 30 kg (66 lb).
Remove four bolts (10), the four washers, and muffler (9). Installation Procedure
Install muffler (9) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten clamps (8) and (11) to a torque of 55 8 N m (487 71 lb in).
