Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Turn off the battery and disconnect.

Open the engine enclosure (1).

Remove three bolts (3), three washers (4), and right side fender (2).

Remove three bolts (5), three washers (6), and left side fender (7).

Remove bolt (8), washer (9), and strap assembly (10).

Attach a suitable lifting device to engine enclosure (1).
Place a suitable block next to the striker to avoid the hood close onto the striker.
Raise the hood and suitable lifting device at the same time.

Apply a little upward pressure to engine enclosure (1), with suitable lifting device.

Remove both clips (11) at bottom and top of strut (12), and remove right side strut (12).

Remove both clips (13) at bottom and top of strut (14), and remove left side strut (14).

Remove two bolts (15) and two washers (16).

Attach a suitable lifting device to engine enclosure (1). The weight of engine enclosure (1) is approximately 113 kg (250 lb). Open engine enclosure (1).
