Right Side of Engine (1) Steering pump (2) Outlet pressure tapSteering pump (1) is located in the engine compartment on the right side of the machine. The engine drives this gear type pump. The pump draws oil from the hydraulic tank through a suction strainer.Flow is sent to the steering control unit through the steering outlet line. Steering system pressure can be measured at pressure tap (2) in the steering outlet line. After the requirements have been met for steering, the remainder of the flow from the steering pump is sent to the front charge filter. This oil then becomes charge oil for the vibratory hydraulic system and charge oil for the propulsion system for the drum.
