Soil Stabilization Treatment Process
The RM-300 can be equipped with one of two optional additive systems. This includes the asphalt emulsion system and the water spray system. The asphalt emulsion system is used during asphalt reclamation, and the water spray system is used during the soil stabilization.Note: The RM-300 can be equipped with either an emulsion system or a water system.During the soil stabilization process, the water spray system mixes water with the soil and any additives which are applied to the soil in order to provide optimum moisture content for compaction. This will improve the load bearing characteristics of the soil.Reservoir
The additive system is designed to be used with a self-propelled tanker with a large capacity or "nurse", that supplies the emulsion or water.Emulsion and/or water is usually delivered from the additive truck through a 76.2 mm (3 inch) hose. The emulsion should be gravity feed from the additive truck to the machine. A push bar acts as a solid link between the machine and the additive truck. When the machine stops moving, unused emulsion recirculates within the system. If a return line is installed, the emulsion can also be returned to the additive truck.Spray System

Refer to Illustration 1. Unused emulsion can be recirculated through the system or returned to the supply truck. The position of the spray bar cylinder determines if the emulsion is directed out of the nozzles or into the return line. The auxiliary hydraulic pump provides the oil in order to operate the spray bar cylinder. Oil flow to the spray bar cylinder is controlled by the spray bar solenoid, which is in turn, controlled by the additive electronic control module (ECM) in the electronic control subsystem. The water delivery system is similar to the emulsion system. On the water system, the spray bar solenoid controls the spray bar cylinder. The spray bar cylinder is connected to the water valve on the outlet side on the water pump. The above illustration shows the general layout of the system that delivers water.Hydrostatic Drive Subsystem
The hydrostatic drive subsystem contains the following components: electronically controlled, variable displacement pump with an integral charge pump, externally mounted charge filter and . The ECMs in the electronic control subsystem control the hydraulic pump, and the hydraulic motor drives the spray pump in the spray system.Electronic Control Subsystem
The electronic control subsystem consists of the following components:Machine ECM
