(21) Lanyard switchLanyard (8) is connected to lanyard switch (21). Lanyard switch (21) measures the tension on lanyard (8). Lanyard switch (21) is located in the entry to the operations area and provides an input to BCP (5). AIS PLC module (23) monitors the status of the two sets of contacts in lanyard switch (21) via BCP shutdown interface module (27) .When lanyard (8) is breached, the tension on lanyard (8) will change. The two contacts in lanyard switch (21) will open. BCP shutdown interface module (27) will stop receiving the 24 VDC signal from lanyard switch (21). BCP shutdown interface module (27) will send a signal through LARN network cable (15). The signal is sent via network switch (18) to AIS PLC module (23) that the barrier has been breached. AIS PLC module (23) will interpret the signal, and will then send a signal to BCP shutdown interface module (27) .BCP shutdown interface module (27) will energize relay (41) and strobe light relay (42) in BCP (5). Two 7 VDC signals supplied to AIS transmitter panel (6) will be stopped. AIS transmitter panel (6) will stop transmitting the enable signal via AIS leaky feeder cable (2) and AIS antenna (3) to the MAS. The engine will stop and the parking brakes will engage. BCP (5) will de-energize strobe light relay (42) turning off AIS strobe light (1), and disarm the AIS.
