FLANGE 1477059 - Caterpillar

1 On 973 machines, remove step (1) from each side of the machine. Remove the plugs from holes (A) in each side of the machine. Install pins (2) [963-3G1075; 973-3G2117] through the frame rail and install washer (3) [7D3019-963; 2G2885-973] and bolt (4) [1A75-963; 2H3725-973]. 2 Install a seal (5) [7K9208-963; 7K9211-973], with the lips toward the outside, in each side of block assembly (6) [3G5595-963; 3G6738-973]. Install block assembly (6), retainer (7) [3G1066-963; 3G2123-973] and 7B2289 Bolt (8) on pins (2). Tighten bolts (8) to 360 50 N m (265 35 lb.ft.) torque. 3 Install four studs (9) [6D4986-963; 5P2617-973] in each side of carriage assembly (10) [3G1064-963; 3G2125-973]. Tighten the studs on 963 machines to 230 30 N m (170 22 lb.ft.) torque. Tighten the studs on 973 machines to 450 45 N m (330 30 lb.ft.) torque. Put carriage (10) in position with studs (9) through blocks (6) and install nuts (11) [1B4332-963; 2J3507-973]. On 973 machines, install 5P8250 Washers with nuts (11). Tighten nuts (11) on 963 machines to 570 80 N m (420 60 lb.ft.) torque. On 973 machines tighten nuts (11) to 1125 100 N m (830 75 lb.ft.) torque. Install pin (12) [4T3351-963; 4T3474-973] and retainer (13) [4T3352-963; 4T3475-973] on each side of the machine with bolts (14) [6F7037-963; 5B9385-973]. 4 Install a seal (15) [7K9208-963; 7K9209-973], with the lip toward the outside, in each side of the head end of cylinder (16) [963-1U3497-R.H., 9J9881-L.H.: 973-3G1194]. Install a seal (17) [7K9203-963; 7K9205-973] in each side of the rod end of cylinder (16). Put washer (18) [4T2466-963; 1J3720-973] on pin (12) and install cylinder group (16). Install retainer (19) [3G1066-963; 3G2123-973] and 7B2289 Bolt (20); tighten to 360 50 N m (265 35 lb.ft.) torque. Connect the rod end of cylinder (16) to carriage (10) with pin (21) [3G471-963; 3G2120-973]. On 963 machines use an 8S9191 Bolt and 2K4973 Locknut to hold pin (21) in position. On 973 machines use a 2K703 Bar (23) and two S1585 Bolts to hold each pin (21) in position. 5 On 963 machines, install two 684174 Elbows (24) and (25) with 2M9780 Seals in each cylinder (16). Connect 1U984 Tube Assembly (26) to elbow (24). Fasten tube (26) to cylinder (16) with 6D4246 Clip (27), 6K4936 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer. Connect 1U4120 Hose Assembly (28) to tube (26) and existing elbow (29). Connect 1U4121 Hose Assembly (30) to elbow (25) and existing elbow (31). 6 On 973 machines, connect 3G8037 Hose Assembly (32) to existing elbow (33). Connect 3G8036 Hose Assembly (34) to existing elbow (35). Connect hoses (32) and (34) and 4J5267 Seals to cylinder (16) with 1P4576 Flanges, S1588 Bolts and 5M2894 Washers. Tack weld 8G5098 Step (36) to each side of the machine at approximately the location shown. Make 5.0 (.20") fillet welds along each side and the top of step (36). 7 Install film (37) [6V3814-963; 6V3815-973]
