To prevent possible personal injury, do not disconnect any hydraulic lines until all the hydraulic pressure has been released from the system.
Movement of the machine could result in death or personal injury. Shut the 3208T (Engine B) diesel engine down. Tag the machine controls. Lock the main battery switch at OFF before starting work.
1. Position the machine on level ground.2. Remove cotter pin (4) and slotted nut (3) from the bottom center of the leg yoke.3. Disconnect the locking valve hoses. Cap or plug off immediately. Mark of identify the hoses for later assembly.4. Unbolt the locking valve or valves from the bracket5. Position locking valves out of work area.6. Remove bolts (2) from the leg cap.7. Attach a lifting device to the leg cap.8. Pull the leg cap and cylinder straight up and out of the leg.9. Disconnect two cylinder hoses (1). Cap or plug off immediately. Mark or identify the hoses for later assembly.10. Remove the cylinder from the leg cap. The following steps are for the installation of the elevation cylinder.11. Remove the fittings from the old elevation cylinder.12. Install the old fitting on the new elevation cylinder.13. Drain any oil from the new cylinder into a suitable container.14. Fill the lift cylinder through both ports with ATF Type F Hydraulic Oil. Cap or plug until assembly.15. Position the elevation cylinder to the leg cap.16. Install the clevis pin.17. Install the keepers.18. Connect the two hoses.19. Install the leg cap and attached elevation cylinder to the leg barrel.
Be sure the keeper pin is in place on the pin that connects the leg cap to the elevation cylinder before inserting the elevation cylinder into the leg barrel. Use care to avoid damage to the hydraulic hoses while inserting the elevation cylinder into the leg barrel.
20. Install the leg cap bolts.21. Connect the locking valve hoses.22. Install the slotted nut.23. Install the cotter pin.24. Switch the main disconnect to ON.25. Start the 3208T (Engine B) diesel engine.26. Operate the elevation cylinder through at least three full cycles to bleed the air from the system. Refer to the topic, "Disassemble & Assemble Cutter Door Cylinder", for disassemble & assemble procedure for the elevation cylinder.
