Intended Use
Do not use the system in areas where there is a risk of explosion, or for the control of machines used to convey persons, unless the use is explicitly approved for these uses by the manufacturer. The Cat Command for dozing, Gen 3.5 Operator Console system is used to control all the functions of a D7R Series II Track-Type Tractor from a remote location. The system is designed to operate with an unobstructed view of the machine from the operator console position.
Modifications to the Remote Control System may void warranty and alter the performance of the machine resulting changes in safety. Do not change the system without documentation and approval by Caterpillar. Under no circumstance should safety devices be modified.
Effects on System Operation
RF interference
This device complies with CFR 47 Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
This device may not cause harmful interference
This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operationNote: The frequencies used by this system operate in the ISM license-free bands. In accordance with internationally recognized arrangements for interference resolution that apply in such bands, this classification notes that radio communication devices operating in ISM-designated bands are not afforded protection from interference that may be caused by other ISM applications.Note: Caterpillar recommends that each customer conducts a spectral analysis of the operation area for the remote controlled machine to reduce the chance of RF interference.Note: Refer to country regulations to determine what console frequency is approved for use.Environmental
The machine being operated using the Cat Command for dozing, Operator Console system, must not be used in an area where the landscape allows the machine to move out of line of site with the operator console transmitter. The effect of different material may affect the maximum range (increase/decrease) the system will operate. Some material will absorb radio signals while others will reflect radio signals.Installation
Any customer installed on-board hardware mounted near the machine remote control receiver antenna may obstruct line of site transmission between the onboard receiver and the operator console transmitter.
