Two Piece Boom
The two piece boom permits boom reach to be extended or retracted, to one of three positions, for different applications. The three positions can increase or decrease machine reach and digging depth.
Do not use the upper hole position for backhoe operation, to prevent boom damage.
For clamshell operation, the upper hole in the stub boom can be used to increase boom raise height. Use the lower hole position only, for backhoe operation.Attachment Changing
Versa-Link (If Equipped)
The unique Cat designed and built Versa-Link system provides a lightweight coupler system that used a conventional bucket linkage for fast, easy change of attachments. 1. Loosen the four bolts (1) approximately 3 or 4 turns. The bolts hold the sliding wedge locks (2) in place.2. Remove the retainer bolts (3).3. Retract the sliding wedge locks (2) and reinstall the retainer bolts.4. Move the machine to the new work tool and engage the new attachment. 5. Remove the retainer bolts and move the sliding wedges down.6. Tighten the four bolts (1) and reinstall the retainer bolts (3).
