Illustration 1 g06008907Reports have been received from the field that 124-1929 Permanent Coupling As (A) in hose assemblies may fail on automatic lubrication group.These couplings are part of all three hoses of the auto lube system and are connected to the hammer ports.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the below interim repair solution.In the event of failure, replace 124-1929 Permanent Coupling As with the same part.Ensure that hoses are routed so there is no side load on the adapters or hose couplers. Ensure that hose ends are installed in the correct location.The swivel end fitting (B) of the hose must be installed at the pump side of the automatic lubrication group. The fixed end coupling assembly (A) of the hose must be installed at the hammer side of the automatic lubrication group.
