Remove the crankshaft rear seal and the wear sleeve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal - Remove" .
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove four bolts (1) on the back side of the flywheel housing.

Install Tool (A) to the flywheel housing. Fasten the flywheel housing to a hoist. Remove six bolts (2) .

Remove five nuts (5) and ten bolts (3) . Remove flywheel housing (4) . The weight of the flywheel housing is 83 Kg (182 lb) .Note: The rear power take-off (RPTO) may come off with the flywheel housing. For more information on removing the rear power take-off (RPTO), refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Power Take-Off (RPTO) - Remove and Install" .Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Clean the old gasket material from the surfaces of the cylinder block and the flywheel housing that contact each other. Install a new gasket on the cylinder block.
Apply 1U-8846 Sealant continuously to the face of the gasket for the front flywheel housing.Note: The assembly of the flywheel housing to the cylinder block must be completed within 20 minutes of the application of the sealant.

Install two 1/2-13 NC guide bolts (1) in the cylinder block. Install Tool (A) on the flywheel housing. Attach a hoist and put the flywheel housing in position on guide bolts (1) .

Install bolts (2) in flywheel housing (3) . Remove Tool (A) and guide bolts (1) . Install the remaining two bolts (2) . Install five nuts (4) .

Tighten the flywheel housing bolts in the sequence that is shown in Illustration 6 .
