Right Side of Front Drum (1) Front CAAC cylinder (2) Front CAAC cylinder position sensorEach drum is equipped with a CAAC cylinder. Front CAAC cylinder (1) is located on the right side of the front drum. The rear CAAC cylinder is located on the left side of the rear drum.Each CAAC cylinder acts on a phasing shaft inside the vibratory pod of the corresponding drum. The phasing shaft is threaded and is connected to the inner eccentric weight in the vibratory pod. As a CAAC cylinder is extended and retracted, the phasing shaft rotates the inner eccentric weight, and the vibratory amplitude of the drum changes. Approximately 3.5 seconds are required to fully extend or retract a CAAC cylinder.Each CAAC cylinder contains an internal position sensor. The position sensors provide the input signals used to determine the position of the eccentric weight in the associated drum. The front CAAC cylinder position sensor (2) provides an input signal to the front CAAC ECM. The rear CAAC cylinder position sensor provides an input signal to the rear CAAC ECM. The input signals are used as input parameters for amplitude control.
