(1) General rules This troubleshooting guide will help you approach the question in the right direction, but can help you better if you start out with the following general rules in mind:1. Think logically This presupposes that you have read and digested the manuals not only of the swing motor unit but also of the machine as a whole. Observe the symptom analytically to determine whether the swing motor proper should be suspected or not. It could be possible that some other hydraulic component is malfunctioning. Your experience and your knowledge of what the manuals say enable you to think logically.2. Remember, you are dealing with finely finished parts in the swing motor unit.3. Carefully decide whether the swing motor unit should be disassembled or not. Don't jump to the conclusion. There are many kinds of malconditions that can be corrected without disassembling the swing motor unit.4. Maintain utmost cleanliness and keep out dust when removing any part of the swing motor unit.(2) Checking swing motor Troubleshooting for hydraulic circuit is very difficult. Check the below listed and determine if cause of trouble is in the motor.1. Oil in casing Remove drain plug, then check hydraulic oil contained in casing. If many metal particles come out with oil, there is a great possibility of defect in motor inner parts.2. Abnormal noise Check for any abnormal noise from the motor main body.3. Regulate pressure of all sections. Do not unnecessarily perform disassembly and inspection, but regulate pressure at all sections and investigate the trouble.(3) Troubleshooting table1 Pressure fails to rise, motor fails to turn.2 Pressure rises but motor fails to turn.3 Motor rotates in reverse direction.4 Rotation rate fails to reach set value.5 Oil leaks from oil seal.6 Oil leaks from mating surfaces.7 Brake torque is too low.8 Braked is not released.9 Flow is large when brake holds on a slope.10 Cavitation occurs in swing motor.
