Information:
Before carrying out arc welding on the machine or on any equipment attached to the machine, disconnect all power and ground leads from the batteries in order to avoid possible damage to electronic components.
Disconnect all power and ground leads from the batteries to avoid possible damage to the electronic components.Rework Procedure
Crack Location
The crack will most likely propagate to the side plate of the auxiliary stick assembly from the fillet weld toe end of the support plate for the stop valve or port block as shown in Illustration 1.

(2) CrackRepair Procedure
Remove the auxiliary line tube assembly with the stop valve or the port block. Both of the auxiliary line tube assembly shown in area A or area B has been routed on the auxiliary stick assembly. Make sure to mark on the auxiliary line tube assembly at the end of the clamp before removal. The mark is necessary to fix the location of the mounting plate that will be welded later. Refer to Illustration 2.

Remove the mounting plate from the side plate of the auxiliary stick assembly. Do NOT use a gas torch.

Gouge out all cracks fully from the side plate along the propagated crack. If it is not through crack, then make a less than 60 degree V bevel according to the depth and proceed to Step 6. If it is through crack, then make a 3.0 to 4.0 mm (0.11 to 0.16 inch) root gap. Make a less than 60 degree V bevel.Grind the welded area on the surface of the side plate. Grind the areas around the V bevel (C). If accessible, grind the bottom of the side plate (D). Refer to Illustration 3.
Illustration 4 g06279432
Prepare a steel strip that is approximately 2.0 to 3.0 mm (0.08 to 0.19 inch) thick and 10 mm (0.4 inch) width that would cover the length of the crack. Drill a small hole in the strip to insert the wire. Grind the contact surface smooth.
Illustration 5 g06279433
Use the ordinary welding wire to hook the strip. Insert the strip into the root gap. Then pull and bend the wire to mount the strip as shown in Illustration 5.
Illustration 6 g06279435
Ensure the root penetration welding to be slightly bigger than the former as shown in Illustration 6.
Finish the side plate surface flat and smooth by grinding.
Attach the existing mounting plate to the auxiliary line that was removed. Align the mark on the tube as the original plate was attached. Tack weld the support plate on the side plate and disassemble the auxiliary line tube from the stick assembly.

Weld tail grinding
Weld the existing mounting plate to the side plate. Run a continuous extension of the root pass and fillet weld to a length of 30 mm (1.18 inch) tapering to a 3 mm (0.12 inch) height in that distance. Start the weld from the
