Cushion-hitch low-pressure accumulator (1) maintains a constant supply of hydraulic oil to the load cylinder when the machine is carrying a light load. The load is transferred on to high-pressure accumulator (3) as the load increases. Cushion-hitch low-pressure accumulator (1) and high-pressure accumulator (3) absorbs sudden shocks from the load cylinder of the cushion-hitch. the cushion-hitch accumulators help the cushion-hitch to minimize the vertical movement of the tractor.The cylinder of cushion-hitch low-pressure accumulators (1) and high-pressure accumulators (3) contains a sealed piston. The chamber above this piston is pressurized with dry nitrogen gas. When the rod of the load cylinder moves downward, the piston in the cushion-hitch low-pressure accumulator (1) and high-pressure accumulator (3) moves upward in the cylinder. The upward movement of this piston compresses the dry nitrogen gas. The compression of the dry nitrogen gas helps to absorb shocks.The chamber below the piston contains hydraulic oil. Hydraulic oil from the leveling valve enters cushion-hitch accumulator (1) through line (6) .The nitrogen charging valve (2) is used to charge the chamber above the piston with dry nitrogen gas.
