B 1P-1861 Retaining Ring Pliers 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Drive pin (4) into pin (5). Slide pin (5) and gear assembly (1) aside in order to access retaining ring (3). Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (3). Remove gear assembly (1).
Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (2). Remove pin (5). Remove pin (4) from pin (5).

Remove bearing (6). Note: Bearing (6) will be destroyed on removal.
Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (7) from gear (8).
Remove spacer (9). Use a suitable press in order to remove bearing (10).
