Removal Procedure
Start By:
Close the jaws of the work tool and remove the work tool from the host machine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, GEBJ0067, "Pulverizer Attachment - Remove and Install".
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Ensure that the work tool is resting on a hard, level surface.

Remove the four bolts and the washers that secure cover (1) to the upper housing. Remove the cover.
Put identification marks on all hoses for installation purposes. Plug all hoses in order to help prevent fluid loss and contamination of the fluid system.

Disconnect two hose assemblies (2) from relief valve (3) .

Remove four bolts (4) (not shown) that secure the relief valve to the motor.

Remove relief valve (3) and two O-ring seals (5).
Remove two adapters (6) from the relief valve. Remove four seals from the adapters.Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.
Lubricate seals and O-ring seals with an appropriate lubricant.

Install four seals to two adapters (6). Install the adapters to relief valve (3) .
Place two O-ring seals (5) into position on the motor.

Typical example
Place the relief valve into position on the work tool. Install four bolts (4). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 25 N m (19 lb ft).

Install cover (1) to the upper housing.
