Right Side of Machine (1) Steering pump (2) Suction lineSteering pump (1) draws oil from the hydraulic tank through suction line (2). The suction line draws oil through a strainer located in the hydraulic tank. The suction strainer provides initial filtration for the steering pump. Note: Steering pump (1) and the vibratory pump share a common suction line.Flow from steering pump (1) is sent to the metering unit through the steering priority valve. Steering system pressure can be measured at the pressure tap in the steering outlet line. After the steering requirements have been met, oil is sent to the inlet side of the charge filter. After flowing through the charge filter, the oil then becomes charge oil for the propel system.Steering pump (1) is located under the operator platform. The platform must be raised to access to this component.Flow from steering pump (1) is sent to the inlet port of the blade control valve. Flow exits through the outlet side of the valve and is directed to the inlet side of the charge filter. After flowing through the charge filter, the oil then becomes charge oil for the propel system.Note: For more information on steering pump (1), refer to the steering system section of this presentation.
