START BY:a) remove parking brake rotochamber 1. Remove rod end (1) and the nut under the rod end.2. Remove relief valve (3) and nipple (2).3. Remove retainer (4) and boot (5) from the parking brake rotochamber.
Bolts (6) and cover (7) hold a spring in compression. To prevent personal injury, use the following procedure to release the compression of the spring.
4. Install tooling (A) as shown. The flat side of the bearing puller attachment (part of tooling /6A/7) must be against the parking brake rotochamber. Put pressure on cover (7) to release the pressure against bolts (6). Remove bolts (6) and the warning plate that the bolts hold in place.5. Slowly release the compression of the spring in the parking brake rotochamber with tooling (A). 6. Remove tooling (A). Remove cover (7), spring (9) and piston (8) from the housing. 7. Inspect two seals (10) in the housing. Make a replacement of the seals if necessary. 8. Inspect O-ring seal (11) and seal (12) for damage. Make a replacement if necessary. 9. Put clean SAE 30 oil on O-ring seal (11). Put piston (8) in position in the housing. 10. Put spring (9) and cover (7) in position as shown. Install tooling (A). The flat side of the bearing puller attachment (part of tooling [A]) must be against the parking brake rotochamber.11. Put holes (13) and (14) in alignment. Use tooling (A) to put spring (9) in compression.12. Install the bolts that hold cover (7) in position in the housing. Make sure the warning plate is installed on the housing. 13. Install boot (5) and retainer (4). Install the nut and rod end (1). Install nipple (2) and relief valve (3).END BY:a) install parking brake rotochamberRemove And Install Parking Brake Rotochamber
1. Open the two bleed valves on the air tank to release the air pressure in the brake system.2. Disconnect air line (1) from the relief valve. Install tooling (A). 3. Increase the air pressure in the parking brake rotochamber until lever (2) is loose in rod end (3). Remove cotter pin and pin (4). Remove nuts (5) and parking brake rotochamber (6). Release the air pressure in the parking brake rotochamber.4. To install the parking brake rotochamber, retract the piston into the parking brake rotochamber with tooling (A). Put parking brake rotochamber (6) in position on the machine and install two nuts (5) that hold it in place. Slowly release the air pressure in the parking brake rotochamber until the hole in lever (2) is in alignment with the holes in rod end (3). Install pin (4) and the cotter pin that holds it in place.5. Release all the pressure in the parking brake rotochamber. Remove tooling (A). Connect air line (1) to relief valve.
