2-1 Structural Diagram
2-2 Function
* Basic functions of swing motor1. By applying oil under high pressure, delivered from a pump and controlled by a control valve, the upper structure is caused to rotate through a swing gear coupled to drive shaft (101). In addition, the upper structure rotation serves as input of drive shaft (101) and cause more oil to be delivered.2. Another function is the screwing in of crossover relief valve which controls (a) hydraulic oil under high pressure which is supplied from the pump when the upper structure is to be accelerated, and (b) low pressure oil which is delivered from the motor when the upper structure rotation is to be slowed down.3. In addition, the swing motor has the function of sucking oil from an external circuit to prevent cavitation of the swing motor due to inadequate amount of oil in the swing motor drive circuit.4. The swing motor contains an overload relief valve which operates to prevent occurance of abnormal pressure due to closed circuit when swing speed is reduced. - Release of pressure in plunger sub-assembly (351).5. The swing motor contains the parking brake which operates to mechanically stop rotation of the motor when no pilot pressure is applied and to allow free rotation of the motor when the pilot pressure more than the specified release pressure is applied. * Functions of main components1. Drive shaft (101) 1) Transmission of rotation and torque generated by swing motor to swing gear2) Ends of drive shaft (101) are equipped with bearings (443) and (444) which support rotating sections.3) Oil seal (491) is used to seal hydraulic oil inside casing (301). Drive shaft (101) slides against oil seal (491).4) Drive shaft (101) has splines to transmit torque generated in cylinder (111).5) Drive shaft (101) has splines to transmit torque to the outside.6) Drive shaft has splines with which friction plates (742) are meshed. The friction force caused when brake spring (712) pushes the friction plate against casing (301) and brake piston (702) holds the shaft in place.7) Drive shaft has a groove in which stop ring (432) is installed. The stop ring is for positioning the sun gear in the swing gear. 2. Cylinder (111) 1) Has holes to accommodate reciprocating motion of piston (121).2) Has interior splines to transmit torque generated by pressing piston (121) against inclined surface to drive shaft (101).3) Rotates sliding against valve plate (131) to distribute pressurized oil to pistons (121).3. Bushing (113) Supports
