Several reports have been received from the field of the 102-2828 Oil Filter (Hydraulic) (1) loosening. The hydraulic oil filter is part of the 177-6979 Oil Filter Gp (Hydraulic Fan) (Steering). The two filters are mounted on the steering tank (2) that is on the right hand platform. When the two filters loosen, the potential exists for a hydraulic oil leak.Solution
For field service of the machines, install the new 332-1871 Oil Filter that contains the 1P-3709 Rectangular Seal . The 1P-3709 Rectangular Seal will create a better seal than the O-ring that is on the 102-2828 Oil Filter (Hydraulic). The 102-2828 Oil Filter (Hydraulic) will be installed in production until a permanent solution to the problem is known.For the proper installation instructions of the oil filter, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7792, "793D Off-Highway Truck", "Oil Filter (Steering, Hydraulic Fan) - Replace - Hydraulic Pump Case Drain".
