Introduction
This Special Instruction contains information that is required in order to install new hoses, fittings, and elbow assemblies in order to install the transmission breathers on the 834H, 836H, and 988H machines. This procedure will improve the hose routing for the lines of the transmission breather. The new design of the breather lines for the transmission will prevent any oil from escaping from the breather valve.Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you read this information and you understand this information.Affected Parts
Note: The 148-8336 Connector As and 148-8392 Elbow As are not serviceable assemblies. See the table below for the serviceable parts.

Remove 314-5580 Hose As (B) that is connecting the torque converter to the transmission.
Remove 148-8430 Tee As (D) that is connected to 314-5580 Hose As (B) .
Remove 314-5581 Hose As (A) that connects the mounting block of the breather and the transmission.
Install the 45 degree end of 314-5581 Hose As (A) to the mounting block of the breather.Note: This end of the hose was connected to the elbow. This connection will be reversed.
Remove the 45 degree 148-8378 Elbow As (C) from the mounting block of the breather. This elbow assembly will be discarded.
Add 148-8336 Connector As (G) to the bottom of the mounting block of the breather.
Remove the 148-8430 Tee As (D) on the long 90 degree end of 314-5580 Hose As (B) that was connected to the transmission. The 148-8378 Elbow As (D) will still be attached to the hose assembly.
Install 148-8392 Elbow As (E) at the location of the 148-8430 Tee As (D) .
Reinstall the 148-8430 Tee As (D) with the port facing upward. The 148-8378 Elbow As (C) will still be attached to the tee assembly. Rotate the elbow assembly toward the torque converter.
Hook up the other end of the breather 314-5581 Hose As (A) to this 148-8378 Elbow As (C) .
Install the 90 degree long end of the new 246-9308 Hose As (F) to the tee assembly. The 90 degree short end of the 246-9308 Hose As (F) should
