Personal injury or death can result from improper lifting or blocking.When a hoist or jack is used to lift any part or component, stand clear of the area. Be sure the hoist or jack has the correct capacity to lift a component. Install blocks or stands before performance of any work under a heavy component.Approximate weights of the components are shown. Clean all surfaces where parts are to be installed.
Note: Park the truck on a smooth, level surface before you perform any operations.
Verify that all of the components of the body and canopy are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Inspect all components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.
Illustration 1 g01354039Note: Inspect the sleeve bearings in the frame assembly. If necessary, replace sleeve bearings that are worn or damaged.
Connect four shackles (2) to body assembly (1). Attach shackles (2) to a suitable lifting device. Position body assembly (1) on the frame assembly. The weight of the body assembly may be as much as 14515 kg (32000 lb).
Illustration 2 g00534230Note: The thrust washer is located between the outside of frame assembly (18) and body assembly (1). Use the 3.0 mm (0.12 inch) thrust washer only if the 5.0 mm (0.20 inch) thrust washer will not assemble in both places.
Insert pin assembly (15) through body assembly (1), thrust washer (not shown), and frame assembly (18).

Install plate (16) with bolts (17).
Repeat Step 4 and Step 5 for the remaining pin assembly.

Use Tooling (A) to support hoist cylinder (11). Install pin assembly (14) through the body assembly and hoist cylinder (11).
Install plate (13), and bolts (12).
Repeat Step 7 and Step 8 for the remaining hoist cylinder.

Position magnet assembly (5) to body assembly (1) and install bolts (3) through bracket (4).
Align magnet assembly with the electronic control. Refer to Hydraulic System, Operation Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control (Body Down or Up Switch) - Adjust" for the correct adjustment procedure.

Use two people to position rock ejector assembly (6), as shown. The weight of the rock ejector assembly is approximately 39 kg (87 lb). Install the washers (8). Use the identification that was placed on the washers during the removal procedure. Install pin (7) and cotter pin (9) into mounting bracket (10).
Repeat Step 12 for the remaining rock ejector assembly. End By:
Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
